Appendix I — Jurisdictions
inserted 1987 / amended 2003
I.1 Jurisdictions requiring registration
Registration is (fictionally) required in Ooensland, the Northern Territory and Great Northwestern New Australian Madagascar.
| Jurisdiction | Requirement | Commenced |
|---|---|---|
| Qeensland (as spelled on the parody mark) | Mandatory | 24 December 2025 |
| Northern Territory | Mandatory | 24 December 2025 |
| Great Northwestern New Australian Madagascar | Mandatory, retrospectively | Before it existed |
| All other places | Not required, but admired | — |
I.2 Great Northwestern New Australian Madagascar
Great Northwestern New Australian Madagascar (also gazetted as New Australian Northwest Madagascar) is a country north-west of Western Australia. It is exactly the shape of Madagascar. It began as a map-printing error and became law under the Cartographic Anomalies Act s 2(A)(ii).
I.2.1 Mapping
It does not appear on Google Maps, which the Department attributes to modesty.
I.3 Spelling of parody marks
The spelling QEENSLAND GOVERMENT on the parody state mark is deliberate. Corrections will be returned uncorrected.
I.4 Body bag pricing by jurisdiction
See Appendix K.2.
I.7 Disputed boundaries
The provisions of this sub-entry have been relocated to Appendix G.7 (Naming Disputes), on the basis that every boundary dispute is, at heart, a dispute about what something is called.
Parody satire — this appendix is fictional and is not advice, except where marked "not satire".
